The Harbourview Restaurant
The aptly named harbourview restaurant overlooks Porlock Bay.
The restaurant is just a stone's throw away from the tiny ancient
harbour with its magical atmosphere, bobbing boats, thatched
cottages and footpaths which lead to wooded coastal hills and
the wild Exmoor national Park.
The Chef - Andrew Clark
Andrew was trained at the Hilton on Park Lane, and then worked for
three years for Caprice Holdings, who own the Ivy and Bambou. He
lived and worked in Alderney, where he was head chef of a fish
restaurant, helping the fishermen at night for a free batch of fish
the next day! After moving back to London from the Channel Islands,
he became a sous chef at The Woosley, which sees 1200 customers
through its doors everyday.
"I'm looking to do very natural food, foraging where I can for edible
seaweed, mushrooms, and even fish if I can catch them! I don’t believe
in messing about with food. If you can get good ingredients, all you
have to do is put them together. It should be easy!"
The Food
Fine dining combined with Gastro pub food. The kitchen puts
emphasis on freshness and seasonality, underpinned by a deep
respect for the surrounding waters and pastures. Our a la
carte and plat du jours reflect coast and country in equal
measures. For hungry walkers, families and travelling foodies
dine outside in warmer months or dine indoors in the cooler
months and choose something comforting and slowly cooked as
you watch life in the bay unfold. On Sundays the immensely
popular Millers traditional Lunch is offered.
Lunch is served Weekends from 12.00 – 3.00pm
Dinner is served from 6.30-9.00pm Wednesday to Sunday.
